Rosalie Ungar—Author of IN A HEARTBEAT: The Ups and Downs of Life with Atrial Fib
Rosalie Ungar is the award-winning author of No Sex in St. Tropez. In A Heartbeat: The Ups and Downs of Life with Atrial Fib is her second memoir. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband Ed. Her work has been featured on television and numerous publications, including The Columbus Dispatch.
Rosalie’s background as a writer began in the 1960s as a television copywriter for four television stations throughout the U.S. starting at KROD-TV, El Paso, Texas; Kens-TV, San Antonio, Texas; WFTV, Orlando, Florida and KHJ-TV, Los Angeles, California. In El Paso and Orlando she also hosted a morning TV talk show as well as performing commercials and live telecasts. Following TV she was the Director of The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, San Fernando Valley, California; until a year in Europe prompted the writing of No Sex in St. Tropez. Rosalie was also a finalist in 2014 National Indie Excellence Awards.
Rosalie is a member of National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW), Ohio Writer’s Guild and Satellite Writers’ Group. Among Rosalie’s many notable interests, is her strong interest in community theatre. As a performer and choreographer, she also served on the Board of Directors for CATCO Theatre, Columbus’s only professional theatre company. She was also a committee member on the 2013 and 2014 Columbus Arts Festival.
In A Heartbeat: The Ups and Downs of Life with Atrial Fib covers more than thirty-five years of atrial fib and other unrelated health problems. None are cured, but they have become manageable through medications, surgical procedures and ongoing visits with electrophysiologist, cardiologists, endocrinologists and pharmacologist. This is not a medical book. It’s Rosalie’s story from the patient’s point of view.
